Habitat Holds Our Own at Tech Discovery Day

Tech Discovery Day 2025 at Collins Perley, in St. Albans, Vermont, is where middle school students from across Franklin County came together for a full day of hands-on career exploration. The event brought together students, educators, and local employers around a simple and important idea: help young people connect what they are learning now to the kinds of work and possibilities that might shape their futures.

Our Habitat for Aviation crew was small but mighty once again: Granny, Zoë, Axley, Taylor, and me. One of the sweetest parts of the day was watching Axley share her passion with some of her older middle school classmates. There is something powerful about seeing a younger builder stand with confidence and talk about the real work she has done. She was very articulate about her interests and passions when interviewed by a local reporter who later wrote this article.

Days like this matter where you can explore and connect with the ways in which interests, technology, creativity, and problem-solving can connect and lead to meaningful local pathways. We were honored to be one of the organizations helping open that door, and proud of our team for showing, once again, that youth do not need to wait to begin becoming who they are.
