Celebrating A Great Year!

In this year's 2023-2024 Habitat for Aviation’s Annual Report we highlight the expansion of our core programs to engage young people and families in aviation. Our many achievements were made possible only because of the generous donations from over 150 of our near and dear Habitat for Aviation Champions and grants from several Vermont organizations and one nationally-based foundation.

Our dedicated team of volunteers played a crucial role in launching our WOMEN BUILD PLANES program, which garnered national attention, including a Brief But Specular episode that aired on PBS NewsHour, a feature in the Senator Sanders’ Bernie Buzz, and various articles celebrating our important, cutting-edge work.

Our partnership with Big Picture Learning’s B-Unbound and Harbor Freight Fellowship Initiative enabled 17 youth to gain valuable paid apprenticeships in aviation alongside expert mentors in mechanics, avionics, and related trades.

Looking ahead, we are excited to announce a three-year, $12 million capital campaign led by Meg Smith, former Director of the Vermont Women’s Fund — more to come on that at the end of the summer. This initiative, along with our rebranding efforts and enhanced media presence, will help us tell our story, share our vision for the future, and make lasting systemic change in the industry — one youth and adult at a time.
